First I checked the trailer, because you just never know when I might need to go somewhere. It seemed fine, but I did find something different on the spare tire that was way up high. It was Clancy our barn cat napping on high ground. What a smart kitty! While I was checking the inside of the barn, I looked out and saw our flooded pasture and something interesting I thought I would share with ya'll. No it's not our practice barrels floating around in the pasture. They always do that.

Seems we have a problem at the barn. This is all that is left of one of our little chickens. So the chickens have been having conferences about the problem. After much consideration, they have decided it is a bird of prey, such as.... So the solution one of the chickens came up with is this.... When danger comes, run and put oneself in the trap and close the door tight. Smart chicken in my book! Happy Trails To You!
It has rained here so much that The Keeper is frustrated. She made a comment the other day that the weather is better suited to raising gators than horses. Then she shows up with this....
So while I was out grazing today, I noticed a savory looking tree with the most scrumptious leaves on it. So I tried one, and I liked it. So there goes another and another. I think a may pursue a career as a tree trimmer. What do you think? Happy Trails To You!
Well the keeper got reminded of a little known fact today. It seems when rotten eggs hit the ground, they explode. They are nature's own stink bombs. The chickens had been sitting on eggs for about a month and nothing was hatching, so the keeper decided to clear out the nests. She got the Sire to remove the hens so she could gather the eggs. After she gathered them, she went to pour them carefully in a bag to be disposed up and that is when the awaking occurred. Our barn sure could use some frebreeze right now. It is almost as bad as the skunk outbreak of '09. Happy Trails To You!
Here is a pic of part of our new chickens. They have decided to roost on the ground in my stall. Go figure. They have stuck to the ground despite all the work the Keeper did to try and teach them to roost. We had a really wacko weekend. The cat was eating salad. Talk about wacky times. The chickens were catching themselves in the traps that the Keeper puts out for the night marauders. We had an unexpected visitor. The Keeper made sure he was located somewhere safe. We had an ancient raccoon come visit. He was also relocated by the Keeper. Merlin , our part time tom cat showed up with a beat up eye. Tux is still with us. He is hiding in the trailer watching all the insanity. We had more rain and the ducks came back. They were quite happy. The Keeper just smiled through it all kept every one safe and sound. Happy Trails To You!
