This is an interesting picture of my favorite mare. She is 21 years young. It is interesting because she is terrified by tractors. If she realized the tractor was behind her, she would not be standing there. She must have been grazing and walked up on it by accident. I'm not going to be the one to tell her. Here is a better picture of my favorite mare. Isn't she a looker? Here is a picture of the baby of our barn. This is Lola. She is eleven and acts like she is two. Just yesterday, she got stuck because she stuck her head up under a tarp that was protecting a stack of hay that we did not have room to put in the hay barn. Here is the funny part, all she had to do was take two more steps and get hay out of the hay barn. It does not have a door! This is Cisco. I was not thrilled when the Keeper brought him home. I mean how many male horses do we need. Then I met him. He is 37 years old and an old roping horse. He has seen some hard times. The Keeper worked for over 6 and a half years to get possession of him. So I guess I can't begrudge him a nice safe home in his later years. Besides he is a really nice horse. I would share a pasture with him anytime. Until next time, Happy Trails To You!

Check out our little fluffy little peeper! She looks like someone ratted her feathers up until they got mad. Look at that adorable little profile. The Keeper and I can't wait to see what she looks like when she grows up. She is one of the Bantams, so she will be small, but she defiantly has the attitude of a larger chicken. So the Keeper's riding horse is Payable Doc. Here is his picture. He is a bit shaggy in this one, but he is a well built good looking Palomino. He is a seven times world champion in Western Pleasure and color. He is generally drop dead gorgeous under saddle, (so I'm told), He is so perfect in conformation he doesn't even look real when he is groomed and cleaned up. There is one catch, he is the biggest Baby Huey around. He has no idea on how to even be a horse. He saw the keeper taking pictures, so he decided to participate. The big yellow goof can't even get that right! He decided to do a selfie with a tractor in the background to make him look like a real ranch horse. Don't know about ya'll, but I'm not buying it. Then he decided to do a full facial. Some one needs to tell him that with a nose like that, this is not a very flattering shot! Last but not least, he decided to copy our friend Madison and get all artsy and do an eye shot. I must say, I think this is my favorite one of him. Until next time, Happy Trails To You!
Well Durango saw doc's selfies and had to put one of his own in the mix. It was not his turn to be out so he had to do it from the stall. Tux has found a new place to relax. He has taken over one of the old wooden feeders built in 1930. He is convinced it is just right for him. Jekyll has her eyes on a new truck. Really? Someone needs to tell that poor kitty that she is not a Dalmation! Until next time! Happy Trails To You!
Check it out, we have three peepers perching. That sounds almost like a line from a Christmas song! These are out bigger peepers. See the two on the perch? Check out the one that thinks it is hawk. It is on top of the waterer. These guys have become quite the handful. They are rather like Mongolian Hordes than peepers. They hear the Keeper drive up in the morning and they go crazy in the tack room. You can hear them all over the barn. They are growing quite well. Some of them have even begun to fly a little. The Keeper was cleaning their cage their cage the other day and they got out of the box and flew all over the tack room. Luckily the door was closed and the Keeper was able to corral all 26 of them. I can't wait until she turns them out. It should be a hoot to watch them. Until next time, Happy Trails To You!
I could not let everyone else post a selfie on my blog and not put one of myself up now could I? So here it is. Here I am having a good roll. You should try it. It feels wonderful. Until next time, Happy Trails To You!
It finally quit raining long enough to let the day crew out to much on some hay. If you notice there is still water standing in the pasture. Muddy, yucky mud on everything, but he horses enjoyed going out and stretching their legs. So how do you like my Appaloosa costume. I do this just to drive the Keeper nuts. Not only does she have to brush all the mud off of me daily, I have taken to standing under where the chickens roost and getting chicken poop all over my coat that has to be brushed out daily. What else is there to do but.... Until next time, Happy Trails To You!
The Keeper came out to feed and could not find Tux. He is the black and white cat was missing. He is generally right there with his brother ready for dinner. Not today. He was finally located in the most unsuspecting place.
We thought these two would partner up. Turns out we called it wrong. The Keeper located these two in the hay barn hanging out together. Who would have thought it?
